Athens County Law Library


The Main Library is Open to the Public     
Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Serving the Courts, the County Government, the Local Bar Associates and the Citizens of Athens and it's surrounding Counties. The following is a list of services provided.

  • Case retrieval assistant
  • Documents faxing
  • Help with legal Research
  • Forms for pro se filings in Domestic, Juvenile, Criminal and Civil Courts.
  • Conference Rooms (private meetings/mediation/depositions) - Scheduling can be done with Librarian 
  • Study space is available.
  • Free Legal Clinic - TBD (more information will be forth coming)

Reference Materials are available by both hardback and internet research

The Law Librarian (Notary) is available from 8:00 a.m. - 2 p.m.


The Law Librarian CANNOT give legal advice, but can provide you the information needed on the services available for you and help you understand the forms that are needed.

The Law Librarian is – Diane “Dj” Jayjohn – She has an associate Degree from Hocking College in Business and Accounting and is a Certified Paralegal.  She has gained over thirty years of legal experience working for and with many local attorneys and Judges.  Dj has a broad background and is knowledgeable on many of the forms used by the Courts.  She is kind, friendly and approachable. She is willing to assist as needed in obtaining the forms necessary for your case.
