Athens Ohio Common Pleas Court

E-Filing/Courtview Broken Link Issue

These instructions are to address an issue when filing a document in our e-filing system with the Athens County Clerk of Courts.

After e-filing, the Courtview e-filing system generates a "Notice of Electronic Filing"  sent to the person who filed the document.  It provides to whom electronic service has been sent to and a link to where the filed document can be accessed.  Some people were experiencing a broken link when selecting the "Click Here" to access the document, shown below.

Courtview identified the reason.  The users computer  needs to be set to "Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically."

For those who do not have an IT person to do it for them, the steps are listed below.  For clarity I also provide the steps with pictures.

1. Right click on the computer in the right hand corner of your screen (If you hover over and it says YOUR Network name and/or internet access)
2. Click Open Network and Internet Settings
3. Click on Change adapter options
4. Right Click Local Area Connection
5. Click on Properties
6. Double click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties
7. The bottom option should be selected to Obtain DNS Server address automatically.

That's it!  Enabling that setting should resolve the broken link issue.

If this does not resolve the issue for you please let me know.
